A love story in motion
Early-June in Cincinnati means the peonies are still popping and Ault Park’s grand stone staircases are wrapped in a sea of green. It was the perfect backdrop for Annika and Ben—a couple completely at ease, more focused on each other than the camera. From the second we met in the upper gardens, they slipped into their own rhythm—walking, twirling, stealing quiet moments, and laughing like no one else was around.
Why their gallery feels so alive
—Movement over mannequins. We skipped stiff posing in favor of real interaction—walking, spinning, hugging, and every little moment in between.
—Architecture meets romance. Ault Park’s limestone balustrades and garden paths brought this timeless elegance to every frame.
—That overcast glow. The cloud cover gave us the kind of soft light that photographers dream of—perfect for highlighting all the sweet details without any harsh shadows.
—Neutral styling FTW. Annika’s cream dress and Ben’s soft neutrals were understated in the best way, letting their connection take the spotlight.

Favorite moments we had to bookmark

Terrace quiet moments
With the soft hills in the background and the sky fading to lavender, we guided them into a gentle, slowed-down moment—no big prompts, just a chance to breathe and connect. It turned into a peaceful little pause that felt like their own world.
Staircase strolls
The architecture at Ault Park makes movement look effortless, so we leaned into that—having them walk, pause, and take in the view together.
The garden path
At one point, they just paused mid-walk, forehead to forehead, with all the greenery surrounding them. No direction, no posing—just a quiet pause that felt like time slowed down for a second.
Planning your own movement-packed session?
—Wear something you can actually breathe (and move) in.
—Pick a location with both open greens and architectural details—Ault Park nails that balance.
—Golden hour is great, but even overcast days can give you the softest, most romantic lighting.
A Season Worth Savoring

There’s something so special about photographing a couple in that quiet space between the proposal and the wedding day—when everything feels full of anticipation and possibility. Annika and Ben brought such a joyful calm to their session,
like they already knew this season wasn’t about rushing to the next thing, but about soaking it all in together. This afternoon felt like a little pause in the middle of life, and I’m so glad we got to freeze it in time.
